How do I close an account?
Submit a ticket to request our ops team to close the account. If your program has operator access, they can close it manually by selecting 'Account Details' and clicking on the ellipses (3 dots) on the top right corner of the dashboard.
The program can also close accounts via API, using Update an Account and setting the "status" field to "close", if the account balance = 0.
Will Solid require justification for why the account should be closed?
No questions asked–it is up to your program. Any legal/compliance issues here should be addressed by the program and how they would like to manage the process (i.e. outline the grounds for closing a user's account in the Terms & Conditions).
What if there is an outstanding balance?
We strongly recommend the program transfer all funds out of the account, via ACH or Wire, prior to closing it, as checks can get "lost in the mail." If there is still an outstanding balance on closing, Solid will cut a check to the address on file.
What if there are pending transactions
All transactions must be settled prior to closing an account. Neither the program nor Solid can close an account if there are pending transactions.
Can the program block accounts?
Programs must submit a ticket to request we block an account. However, they can do this manually if they have Operator access by selecting 'Account Details' and clicking on the ellipses on the top right corner of the dashboard.
Can the program freeze accounts?
Yes, but it must be done by Solid via ticket.
